On May 23, Shandong Yaokun Mould Co., Ltd. registered its Cambodia production base project with relevant authorities.
Currently, information regarding the investment amount, production capacity, and other details of the project has not been disclosed.
According to reports, Yaokun Mould was established in 2014 and mainly engages in the manufacturing of tire molds. The company is capable of producing more than 1,800 sets of molds annually, covering various types of tires including semi-steel, full-steel, and engineering tires.
This project is closely linked to the ongoing wave of Chinese tire companies investing in Cambodia.
In 2021, Sailun Group established Cambodia’s first tire factory. Over the next three years, companies such as General Tire, Double Star Tires, and Foma Tires also built factories in the country.
Wanli Tire, after conducting feasibility studies, has also been working on selecting a site for its investment.
Entering 2024, Chinese tire companies have significantly increased their investment in Cambodia, and the momentum continues to grow. Sailun Group and General Tire announced additional investments for their Phase II projects in Cambodia.
At the same time, a new industry player, Zhengdao Tire, has also joined the investment wave, announcing its first overseas factory and completing the initial site selection work in Cambodia.
In addition to these companies, rumors have recently emerged about another large enterprise from Guangrao planning to invest in Cambodia. According to Tire World Network’s in-depth investigation, this project is currently in the approval phase, and more details will be released once officially announced.
